GeN was built at the intersection of Oxford-bred science and deep translational expertise. We are a premier computational chemistry and rodent behavioral pharmacology team dedicated to redefining therapeutics for rare forms of autism.
Over 16 years of rigorous, targeted R&D, our platform has successfully decoded complex neurodevelopmental pathways, culminating in our vital role within the FRAXA Drug Validation Initiative (FRAXA-DVI), worked in PTHS, AS, KS and ASD.

Founder & Director
Neuroscientist, entrepreneur and drug developer with extensive experience in translational neuroscience and preclinical therapeutic development. Patricia founded GeN Ltd to create and advance proprietary drug programmes from biological rationale and compound discovery through preclinical efficacy, intellectual-property development and pharmaceutical partnering.
Thomas Haak, PhD
Co-Founder, CEO & Biotech Innovation Leader
Dr. Thomas Haack is a distinguished German bioorganic chemist with over a decade of experience leading drug discovery divisions at major European pharmaceutical companies, including Menarini and Zambon, alongside a strong track record in biotech startup incubation and technical due diligence.
He earned his PhD from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), where he was the inventor of "Pseudo-prolines" (PseudoProlinas)—a breakthrough methodology that revolutionized peptide synthesis worldwide.
Currently based in Chile, he is the Co-founder and CEO of Andinno S.A., a biotech startup at the forefront of advanced cardiovascular diagnostics using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabolomics. He combines his entrepreneurial leadership with academia as a professor at Universidad de Desarrollo and as a long-standing project evaluator and member Health Committee for the FONDEF-ANID, the chilean national science agency for applied research.

Robert Deacon, PhD
Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Internationally recognised behavioural neuroscientist and pioneer of translational behavioural methodologies used in neuroscience research, pharmaceutical development and CROs worldwide. Robert developed and standardised influential paradigms including burrowing, nest building, digging and marble burying, hoarding and hyponeophagia. At GeN, he leads the scientific evaluation of therapeutic efficacy and the development of behavioural strategies designed to determine whether novel compounds produce meaningful functional benefit.
